                    Retro Cruiser Bicycles paints  their  bicycles the same way a classic car would be painted.We start with a bare frame.If it is a restoration of a classic bike we sand it down to bare metal.First a self etching primer is applied,so the primer actually bonds with the metal.Then we sand the primer by hand. The second coat of primer is a filler  primer.This primer fills in little imperfections and scratches.Then we sand by hand again.Now we apply the base coat color with 2 to 3 coats of color paint.Then we apply 3 to 4 coats of clear.The result is very durable high gloss finish that has a lot of depth.This paint finish is not seen on factory painted bicycles.You are truly getting exclusive craftsmanship that far exceeds factory paint.                 Some bicycle builders and designers come from the motorcycle industry.We at RCB come from the classic car industry.Fred the owner and founder of RCB has been building hot rod cars and restoring old cars and trucks since 1976.A 1948 Ford 2dr Sedan street rod Fred painted won first place in its class at the 2006 World Of Wheels Car Show in Washington D.C.Growing up in hot rod kulture was more than a hobby it was a way of life.We now take our talents and passions and pass them along to building really cool cruiser bicycles.
